EPT10 Sanremo: IPT accumulates a monster field

On June 5, 2009, Casino Sanremo hosted a poker tournament that seemed to be nothing out of the ordinary. There were 225 players, paying €2,200 apiece, and a player from Rome named Stefano Puccilli won it for €120,000.

Situs taruhan Online Aman dan Terpercaya | Tempat Taruhan Online Terlengkap | Situs Judi online terpercaya |

That tournament, however, was the start of a series that turned out to be far more than most people expected. It was the first event ever held under the banner of the Italian Poker Tour (IPT), which in turn was the first major poker series ever to navigate through this country alone.

In theory, it was an experiment that was not guaranteed to succeed. Any new venture always comes with an inherent threat of falling at the first hurdle. In practice, however, this venture was as safe as houses. PokerStars were the sponsors and this was Italy, a country deeply immersed in a poker boom.

Stefano Puccilli, the IPT's first champion

So it was that this week in Sanremo, the IPT returned these parts for the 16th time. And when tournament administrators completed their counting, they found 609 names on the list and a record-breaking 1,124 entries split over three starting days. They came, they bought in, they bought in again and again.

That last statement probably requires some explanation. The IPT in Sanremo this week was played over three "accumulator" start days, a format that allows three €770 buy-ins to every player, should they so wish. You can play Day 1A and (with any luck) bag up chips at the end, then come back on Day 1B and start again. You can do the same on Day 1C and then return on Day 2 and open all your bags, adding up to three stacks together.

It means three chances to accumulate a pile of chips, or three chances to sneak through by the skin of your teeth, whichever turns out to be the most appropriate. It also swells the prize-pool dramatically, which in this case hit €763,196.

The tournament reached its final table late last night, leaving us with only nine players today. Six were from Italy -- above par for an event in which 51 per cent of the field were home-grown -- but there were also representatives of France, Sweden and Korea. The perceived value of the IPT has always attracted players from across the globe, and its former winners include the likes of Matt Perrins, Ramzi Jelassi and Valdemar Kwaysser, while Ukraine's Oleksii Kovalchuk is the only player with two titles.

Situs taruhan Online Aman dan Terpercaya | Tempat Taruhan Online Terlengkap | Situs Judi online terpercaya |

(The cream of the Italian crop have shown their mettle too. Luca Pagano, Salvatore Bonavena, Luca Moschitta and Alessio Isaia have emerged victorious.)

This week's final table looked like this (starting stacks in brackets):

Seat 1: Marcello Miniucchi, Italy, 4,540,000
Seat 2: Alessandro Borsa, Italy, 820,000
Seat 3: Fabio Scepi, Italy 2,750,000
Seat 4: Nicolo Ceccarelli, Italy 2,260,000
Seat 5: Adel Kabbani, France, 2,020,000
Seat 6: Alessandro De Fenza, Italy 3,855,000
Seat 7: Alex Longobardi, Italy 2,200,000
Seat 8: Jae Sim, Korea, 1,980,000
Seat 9: Alexander Norden, Sweden 1,955,000

And at time of writing, three players are left: Miniucchi, Di Fenza and Sim. They don't look like getting it over with anytime soon, so head over to the Italian PokerStars Blog for latest information.

APPT8 Auckland: Minh Nguyen flips his way to victory!

The APPT Auckland Main Event has reached an exciting conclusion with Australia's Minh Nguyen crowned the APPT Auckland Main Event champion!

However in the end, victory didn't come quite as easily as we first thought.

Situs taruhan Online Aman dan Terpercaya | Tempat Taruhan Online Terlengkap | Situs Judi online terpercaya |

Nguyen had dominated for the best part of two days. He mauled his opposition on the bubble last night and today, with a big stack in hand, he out-muscled the final table with relentless aggression. He raised 90% of hands, he stole the blinds, and when he was challenged, he'd show down a huge hand. It was near flawless poker.

minh_nguyen_appt_auckland_ft2.jpg

Then he got heads up.

Nguyen took a big lead into heads-up play against Thomas Ward, but the Kiwi wasn't going to go down without a fight.

After some initial to-and-fro play, Ward started to chip away at the deficit. Nguyen fired three barrels on a board of 4?T?9?J?3? but Ward picked off the bluff with K?Q? for a straight.

He then followed that up with another cooler of a hand that saw Nguyen betting on the board of 5?3?4?K?2? with ace-queen for a straight, but that wasn't enough as Ward called with ace-six for the bigger straight.

thomas_ward_appt_auckland_ft.jpg

Ward collected a couple more smaller pots and suddenly he was into the lead as a rattled Nguyen decided he was happy to now talk a deal. The two paused the clock and looked at the numbers before coming to a quick agreement. Ward would take NZ$104,000, Nguyen would get NZ$101,600 and they would play for the remaining NZ$10,000, the title and the two beautiful trophies that were up for grabs.

However the deal went a little further as they both agreed to flip for what was left without looking a

t their cards. A little disappointing to see two such talented players take the skill element out of the game, but I have to admit, the next few minutes were pretty fun to watch as the players flipped for it all!

The first flip would see Ward all in with A?J? against Nguyen's 8?6? and he was one card away from the title when the first four community cards were spread 9?T?T?J? but the 7? spiked on the river to the roars of the rail as Nguyen made a straight to double up!

minh_nguyen_laughing_appt_auckland.jpg

Ward was crippled, but managed to win the next two flips to give himself a sneaky chance of a comeback. One more flip victory and he was back in the lead.

For the fourth time in four flips, Ward was dealt the best starting hand with K?T? up against Nguyen's 8?3?, but this time the board of 4?3?2?8?K? would give Nguyen two pair for the victory!

It was a whirlwind final table that was over inside six hours of game time. Overnight short stack Stephen Thompson was a quick casualty but the action didn't slow down there.

A key hand was when the unlucky Ben Rendall made a stand against the overwhelming pressure of Minh Nguyen. Rendall found pocket queens and moved all in but Nguyen showed up with one better as his pocket kings removed Rendall in eighth place.

Dean Blatt was bounced out in seventh in a battle of the blinds with Thomas Ward, before another cooler ended the run of Michael Guzzardi. It was a clash of the roommates with Guzzardi flopping trips but Jesse McKenzie had flopped a full house to eliminate Guzzardi in sixth.

The coolers continued as again Nguyen was the one to do the damage, turning a straight against Sam Williams' two pair. Williams was out in fifth and he was soon followed by Jesse McKenzie who shoved K?Q? straight into Nguyen's pocket aces!

jesse_mckenzie_appt_auckland_ft.jpg

Nguyen had an enormous chip lead, but it was Thomas Ward who claimed the scalp of William Rogers in third place to see Nguyen with around a three-to-one advantage entering heads-up play.

It was a great effort by Ward who looked like had the heads-up edge, but he couldn't win the flips that mattered and ultimately would have to be content with NZ$104,000 for his runner-up result.

APPT8 Auckland Day 1C: Brabin riding the wave of success

Over the last seven years, the ANZPT and APPT have provided a platform to launch the careers of some of the finest young poker players in the region. The tours have ventured to new corners of the Asia Pacific to give players all around the globe a chance to experience the thrill of championship-style tournament poker.

Situs taruhan Online Aman dan Terpercaya | Tempat Taruhan Online Terlengkap | Situs Judi online terpercaya |

Champions have been made and there have been some incredible success stories that have roots emanating from the PokerStars-sponsored tours.

No one knew Martin Kozlov before he won the 2010 ANZPT Melbourne Main Event and he's now one of Australia's elite players with results all over the WSOP and European Poker Tour among $700,000 in earnings.

Likewise, we hadn't heard of Michael Kanaan before his breakthrough at the 2011 ANZPT Sydney Main Event. He now has over $800,000 in live earnings with some massive results throughout Asia.

Another who has used the local tours as a springboard to success is Luke Brabin.

luke_brabin_appt_auckland.jpg

Situs taruhan Online Aman dan Terpercaya | Tempat Taruhan Online Terlengkap | Situs Judi online terpercaya |

Brabin had been on the scene a long time but it wasn't until 2013 that he made a conscious decision to devote himself to poker and the ANZPT. It was a wise decision as his consistency netted him three cashes on the ANZPT that year, including one final table, and a deep run in the APPT Melbourne Main Event. That was good enough to earn him second place in the 2013 ANZ Player of the Year race.

While his results were good, Brabin hadn't been able to land the big cash, but his consistency on the ANZPT did give him the confidence to take his game to the next level.

"I was consistent but wasn't getting the big score," said Brabin as he took his seat in today's APPT Auckland Main Event. "I looked at what the other guys were doing and realised I wasn't taking enough risks deep in the event. I needed to take more marginal spots and open up my game to go for the victory."

After another two ANZPT cashes in 2014, Brabin finally broke through for that elusive victory when he won the first WSOP APAC bracelet of the year and a tidy AU$131,365 in prize money.

luke_brabin_wsop.jpg

Situs taruhan Online Aman dan Terpercaya | Tempat Taruhan Online Terlengkap | Situs Judi online terpercaya |

"The ANZPT and APPT tours gave me the confidence to build up my game to eventually break through for that result. They are great events for players to build a platform that might lead to even bigger results," added Brabin.

Brabin will be hoping to write another chapter in his rapidly-expanding poker resume in the Main Event, or perhaps there's another success story waiting to be unearthed here in Auckland.

The final action saw Piroddi go all-in far behind his opponent's hand with A?3? against A?J?, but the following lucky board gave him victory and trophy: 3?9?7?6?T?

The IPT's next stop will be in Saint Vincent November 28 - December 3.

The IPT Saint Vincent Grand Final will be played again with the "accumulator" format. This brand new tournament format is breaking new ground for tournament poker. The format, which is similar to the popular "Repechage" format, means the IPT Saint Vincent will be played over three Day 1s.

The accumulator tournament will allow players who make it through Day 1A to also buy into Day 1B and/or Day 1C starting each day with a new chip stack. Any chips left at the end of each Day 1 played will be accumulated and taken through to the start of Day 2.

APPT8 Auckland Day 1C: Registration sweat

One of the main stories that was always going to emerge today on Day 1c of the APPT Auckland Main Event is the battle around the 2014 Australia New Zealand Player of the Year. As the final event of the season, the race for the title will reach an exciting climax here in Auckland with a number of players still in contention to win.

At the start of this event, ANZPT Melbourne champion Edison Nguyen held a narrow lead with the top five looking as follows:

Edison Nguyen - 141.65
Sal Fazzino - 133.71
David Lim - 130.30
Luke Spano - 121.90

Situs taruhan Online Aman dan Terpercaya | Tempat Taruhan Online Terlengkap | Situs Judi online terpercaya |

Steven Zhou - 109.90

The top four are all in Auckland while the only other player in the top ten that we think will play this event is Dean Blatt who sits in tenth place and is already safely through to Day 2.

Lim also made it through yesterday with a healthy stack, while Fazzino and Spano are both in action on Day 1c.

The twist to the tale is that we are yet to see an appearance from the leader in Edison Nguyen. We're confident he's in town and his brother Minh played yesterday, but so far we've yet to sight Edison today.

edison_nguyen_anzpt6_melbourne.jpg

Situs taruhan Online Aman dan Terpercaya | Tempat Taruhan Online Terlengkap | Situs Judi online terpercaya |

Edison Nguyen at ANZPT Melbourne

He may be planning to late register, but it's worth noting that leg reg in this event is just three levels which is a little shorter than some other stops on the tour. That's about 90 minutes from now.

Simply registering for this event is vital for Nguyen's chances in the ANZ POTY, so we hope that he doesn't make a disastrous miscalculation. Each player receives 10 participation points just for showing up in Auckland, so if Nguyen fails to register on time, then he will be instantly overtaken for the lead by Fazzino who lurks less than eight points in arrears.

The top two in the ANZ POTY will share in over $38,000 in cash and prizes including sponsorship into the Asia Championship of Poker and Aussie Millions.

Situs taruhan Online Aman dan Terpercaya | Tempat Taruhan Online Terlengkap | Situs Judi online terpercaya |

We were expecting to be talking about the Player of the Year race later in the day, or perhaps tomorrow when we hit the money and the points bubble, but here we are. Registration is yet to close and we might already have a sweat on our hands.

The clock is ticking Edison and the registration desk is ready and waiting.

APPT8 Auckland Day 2: Spano bubbles, Lim claims POTY

Our last post was about some of the drama that was unfolding approaching the money stage of the tournament, but that was nothing compared to the 100 minutes of play that followed the dinner break.

In the first few minutes of the level we had two eliminations, including former champion Brotha D, before an incredible bubble that lasted in excess of an hour of hand-for-hand play. The short stacks dug their heels in with incredible focus and determination, while the big stacks were happy to accumulate with little resistance.

Situs taruhan Online Aman dan Terpercaya | Tempat Taruhan Online Terlengkap | Situs Judi online terpercaya |

All eyes were on David Lim. He just needed to reach the money to claim the ANZ Player of the Year award, but with 25 players left and only 24 in the money, he was the absolute short stack of the field. He was hoping to fold his way to the money, but then something happened - he found a hand!

Michael Guzzardi opened with a min-raise to 10,000 and Lim, with a stack of 23,500, looked down at two red kings. It wasn't an insta-shove as this bubble was worth far more to Lim that just the NZ$4,550 min-cash, but he decided to go for it. Guzzardi called with pocket eights and Lim was ecstatic to fade the two-outer to double up.

But the bubble was over quite yet.

Next we would see an impressive call by Minh Nguyen with just jack-high. Nguyen had three-bet preflop, bet the flop, checked the turn and was then faced with a sizeable bet on the river on a board of 4?T?9?9?T?. Nguyen tanked for several minutes before making the call with J?5? for a jack kicker to the two pair on board and his read was spot on as Matt Carter had missed with 8?7?.

minh_nguyen_appt_auckland.jpg

Situs taruhan Online Aman dan Terpercaya | Tempat Taruhan Online Terlengkap | Situs Judi online terpercaya |

Nguyen was out to a big chip lead, while fellow pros Thomas Ward, Jesse McKenzie and Michael Guzzardi were busily pounding on their tables. Slowly but surely the medium stacks became short stacks, and the short stacks became vulnerable.

Stephen Thompson was down to just 16,000 when he committed with pocket tens against Sam Williams' king-queen. It looked like it was all over when a king and queen both fell on the flop, but after the turn bricked, a two-outer ten landed on the river to the roars of the rail. Thompson found a miracle and the bubble continued on.

Finally the bubble would eventually pop on Robert Spano. He got his last 21,000 in preflop with Q?8? and was dominated when Minh Nguyen called with A?Q?. Spano flopped a flush draw, but ultimately the K?T?6?J?J? board would leave Spano with the unfortunate distinction of bubble boy.

That was a huge relief for David Lim who limped into the cash, and the valuable points, to officially claim the 2014 ANZ Player of the Year honour. Lim's season included a victory in the ANZPT Auckland event, a deep run at the ANZPT in Perth and then another cash here at APPT Auckland. Congratulations David!

Edison Nguyen drops to second place in the ANZ Player of the Year, and that will only be under threat if Dean Blatt can finish third or better here in this event.

Ankush Mandavia big after Day 1A of IPT Grand Final

Ankush 'pistons87' Mandavia has got off to a thundering start in the Main Event of the Italian Poker Tour Grand Final in Sanremo. The talented online player finished Day 1A with the second largest stack, positioning himself nicely for a deep run in the €2,000 event.

Although Abduraimov Enver holds the lead with 160,500 chips, it's Mandavia's 142,200 that the field should be worried about. Not only does the American hold WCOOP and SCOOP bracelets but he's currently leading the EPT Season 9 Heads-Up Player of the Year leader board. You don't win two of those heads-up events in a season without a lot of poker acumen.

APPT8 Auckland Day 2: Minh dominant as FT is set

A huge day of thrills and spills has come to a close at the APPT Auckland. The SKYCITY Auckland Casino was full to the brim with the poker tables overflowing with action around the room and the rail loving all the excitement of championship tournament poker.

The day started with 80 players remaining but the number they all had in mind was the top 24. That's where the money would start and their two days of efforts would be rewarded.

Some didn't make it that far with Patrick Healy, Carl Knox, Daryl Hussey, Mike King, Tien Pham, Alicia Sale, Anthony Legg and Ryan Otto among those to fall during the afternoon.

Tension was rising approaching the bubble for a number of interesting stories unfolding.

First we saw a rather confusing situation approaching the money when Angela Brewster didn't receive correct change when placing her ante. Tournament staff had to consult the cameras and in that time, Brewster ran a massive bluff that failed to get past Minh Nguyen. Brewster was felted, but her tournament was resurrected when floor staff ruled she was indeed short changed by 500 chips. If Brewster could reach the cash or go further, the ruling would certainly be scrutinized, but as it was, the fairytale comeback story ended a few moments later.

The other dramatic story that unfolded on the bubble was the race for the ANZ Player of the Year.

Luke Spano, Luke Brabin, Dean Blatt and David Lim all had claims at the start of the day to take over the lead after clubhouse leader Edison Nguyen was eliminated on day one.

Spano and Brabin were eliminated during Day 2, leaving Blatt and Lim to duke it out. Blatt needed a top three finish in the tournament, but Lim only had to hang on for a min-cash to take an unbeatable lead at the top of the leader board.

With one elimination to go, all eyes were on Lim as the absolute short stack of the field, but he landed a double up with pocket kings against Michael Guzzardi's pocket eights to relieve some pressure.

david_lim_bubble_appt_auckland.jpg

Situs taruhan Online Aman dan Terpercaya | Tempat Taruhan Online Terlengkap | Situs Judi online terpercaya |

In the end, Lim would survive as Robert Spano would bubble when his Q?8? would fail to get past the dominant A?Q? of Minh Nguyen. The irony of the elimination was that Minh bursting the bubble would ultimately be detrimental to his brother Edison, as David Lim limped into the money to officially claim the 2014 ANZ Player of the Year.

With the hour-long bubble out of the way, the accordion affect took hold as the short stacks tried to double up or die trying.

Former APPT Queenstown runner-up Matty Yates (23rd - NZ$4,550) was one of the first to the cashier before the title defence of David Lim (21st - NZ$5,050) eventually came to an end when his pocket tens were outdrawn my Michael Guzzardi's king-nine.

David Evans (16th - NZ$6,300) and Day 1c chip leader Terangi Matenga (13th - NZ$7,550) were sent to the cashier before Jesse McKenzie would strike a double elimination with eleven players left to steamroll our way to the final table of nine.

McKenzie held A?Q? to trail Mehrdad Razmi's A?K? while the short-stacked Carl Boag had live cards with his 9?3?, but an ace on the flop and a queen on the turn saw McKenzie take out two in one clean hit.

jesse_mckenzie_appt_auckland.jpg

Situs taruhan Online Aman dan Terpercaya | Tempat Taruhan Online Terlengkap | Situs Judi online terpercaya |

It had taken ninety minutes to burst the bubble but once safely in the money, it was only another eighty minutes of furious action to lose the next fifteen players!

McKenzie fought back from a stack of just 4,800 late on day one to now be right in contention, but he trails the irrepressible Minh Nguyen who simply crushed his table on the bubble before surging towards the final table. He'll take a dominant chip lead into the final table as he looks to match the victory of brother Edison in Melbourne and bring the second trophy of the year back to the Nguyen family.

APPT8 Auckland Final Table: Bang, bang, bang!

How do you stop a bully? One way is to fight back. Ben Rendall did exactly that, but his timing was unfortunate as he's now sitting on the rail wondering what might have been.

Minh Nguyen was relentlessly aggressive to start off this final table, raising up the majority of hands and finding little resistance.

Then Ben Rendall found pocket queens.

Nguyen was on the button and made a typical raise. Sam Williams called in the small blind which opened the perfect opportunity for Rendall to squeeze from the big blind. However Nguyen responded with a four-bet as Williams got out of the way.

Rendall had a monster hand and he moved all in but incredibly Nguyen held pocket kings as he made the insta-call. The board ran out 8?6?J?4?3? to leave Rendall shaking his head in disbelief.

An unfortunate cooler for Rendall who entered today with the third biggest stack, especially when you consider how active Nguyen has been. Still a fine result for Rendall who takes home NZ$16,500 for his efforts.

ben_rendall_appt_auckland_ft.jpg

Situs taruhan Online Aman dan Terpercaya | Tempat Taruhan Online Terlengkap | Situs Judi online terpercaya |

As Nguyen was counting up a stack that was worth more than half the total chips in play, the final seven would become six with the elimination of Dean Blatt.

Blatt had been fighting a short stack for the entire tournament, so it was a great effort to even get this far, but he was unable to catch a break on this final table.

When action folded to Blatt in the small blind, he moved all in for a little over twelve big blinds but Thomas Ward snapped in the big blind with A?Q?. Blatt had live cards with 9?6? but a couple of aces on the flop was more than enough to leave Blatt to depart in seventh place for NZ$21,500 in prize money.

dean_blatt_appt_auckland_ft.jpg

Situs taruhan Online Aman dan Terpercaya | Tempat Taruhan Online Terlengkap | Situs Judi online terpercaya |

Before the level would end, we would lose our fourth player of the day as Michael Guzzardi was bounced by his roommate Jesse McKenzie in a bit of a cooler.

Guzzardi opened from under the gun and McKenzie made the call in position. Guzzardi opened fire with three barrels on a board of 9?9?7?A?5? with the final bet for the last of his chips. However McKenzie wasn't going anywhere with 7?7? for a flopped full house as he made the call. Guzzardi gave a wry smile as he flashed 9?J? for trips before heading off to collect NZ$26,500 for sixth place.

And just like that, we're down to five at the first break of the day.

Minh Nguyen has a commanding chip advantage with 2.65 million in chips. Jesse McKenzie is next best with 860,000, while Thomas Ward is not far behind with 670,000. Sam Williams with 210,000 and William Rogers with 106,000 are the short stacks.

IPT kicks off the EPT Sanremo festival on April 9

The Italian Poker Tour is one of the liveliest poker tours around, both in terms of players and action. Italy has embraced poker with open arms, taking on board the theatre of the game enthusiastically. Under the stewardship of Team PokerStars Pro Luca Pagano, poker and the IPT has become huge in Italy, not least of all because of the introduction of Pagano's accumulator format where you can play up to three Day 1's - and take all those chips through to Day 2.

The Casinò di Sanremo

How the accumulator format works
* You can buy into any and all of the three Day 1's, each entry costs €770.
* Each day is played out as a freezeout: no re-buys are allowed.
* At the start of Day 2, you get to combine all your Day 1 finishing stacks into one mega-stack and the rest of the tournament plays out as normal.
* Players are able to enter until the end of level 6 each day.

"It's a great for formula for everyone," says Pagano. "It's is a great way for occasional players to spend as much as they feel comfortable with (one, two or three times the buy-in) with the opportunity to play in one of the most prestigious event of the year, which has one of the best structures ever. For professional players particularly, it's is a great way to reduce variance during Day 1."

Situs taruhan Online Aman dan Terpercaya | Tempat Taruhan Online Terlengkap | Situs Judi online terpercaya |

Despite a reduced buy-in, the IPT has moved its entry from €2,200 to €770, the prize pools remain huge because more of more players and more entries. The IPT in October registered more than 1,000 entries. And if you want to shoot for less than that, there's also a €200 Mini IPT starting on April 4, just before the EPT festival kicks off.

How many accumulator strategies does Luca have for you?

Accumulator strategies

Situs taruhan Online Aman dan Terpercaya | Tempat Taruhan Online Terlengkap | Situs Judi online terpercaya |

Players can approach the accumulator event with different strategies, which makes for an interesting new dynamic in the tournament, so Pagano tells us in these following four strategies:

1. Make Day 2

Situs taruhan Online Aman dan Terpercaya | Tempat Taruhan Online Terlengkap | Situs Judi online terpercaya |

The aim of tournament poker is to still have chips at the end of each day. One accumulator strategy is to aim for that. If you make it on your first attempt, that's great. You have a foothold in the second stage of the tournament. You can then play more aggressively on the other days to build that stack.

2. Going for the win

Situs taruhan Online Aman dan Terpercaya | Tempat Taruhan Online Terlengkap | Situs Judi online terpercaya |

Many players like to play for the win and by playing all the Day 1's you'll have more chips and opportunities to build up a huge stack. Given that some players will be playing one bullet players, it can pay to play aggressively from the start and try to accumulate as many chips as possible. If you bust then you come back for Day 1B, then Day 1C. It's very possible to win more chips in one day playing aggressively than across all three playing very tight.

3. Slow and steady

Situs taruhan Online Aman dan Terpercaya | Tempat Taruhan Online Terlengkap | Situs Judi online terpercaya |

Do you know the story of the tortoise and the hare? The hare races ahead, but the slow and steady tortoise wins the race. You can opt to let the aggressive players build up a big stack on Day 1C, because they may well have nothing from Day 1A and 1B, where you managed to bank a close to average stack at the end of play. Three Day 1 average stacks will combine into a big stack for Day 2, at which point you can start to apply some real freezeout pressure.

4. Keeping an eye on your budget

Situs taruhan Online Aman dan Terpercaya | Tempat Taruhan Online Terlengkap | Situs Judi online terpercaya |

You can just play one or two days of the event, which saves you money on your buy-in, but still gives you a good chance to go deep and, should you make the money, you'll be getting an even large return on investment! Trapping players who are playing all three starting days can get you paid off.

The IPT Main Event and Mini IPT take place at the start of the festival, just before the big money EPT Sanremo Main Event begins. The Mini IPT starts Friday, April 4 with a €200 buy-in and up to three accumulator starting days on April 4-6.

Check out the full EPT Sanremo schedule here.

APPT8 Auckland Day 2: Bubble dramas

The bubble is always a dramatic period of a poker tournament and the APPT Auckland Main Event has been no exception with massive confusion on one table over the antes and building tension over the complexities of the ANZ Player of the Year race.

After the recent elimination of Luke Brabin, who ran his ace-queen top pair into a set, the ANZ POTY race was down to three with the clubhouse leader Edison Nguyen looking to hold off Dean Blatt and David Lim.

Over the last level or two Lim had clearly tightened up ship to try and nurse his stack into the

Situs taruhan Online Aman dan Terpercaya | Tempat Taruhan Online Terlengkap | Situs Judi online terpercaya |

money. He got down to his last 10,000 in chips before finally finding pocket aces to secure a triple up.

However moments later, Lim was all in again, this time with A?Q? against Dean Blatt's Q?Q?. Blatt would've been more than happy to eliminate a POTY rival but incredibly the board would run out T?4?3?2?5? to see Lim make a backdoor straight to survive! If Lim min-cashes he locks up the POTY award, so that was a bad beat for both Dean Blatt and Edison Nguyen!

Meanwhile drama was unfolding on Table 5 after a rather confusing ante situation. It required the cameras to be called after Angela Brewster was adamant that she was owed 500 change from the pot.

As the tournament staff were checking the cameras, play continued and things got even more complicated a few hands later when Brewster bluffed off her stack to Minh Nguyen and was felted. At that same moment, tournament staff returned with the news that indeed she was owed 500 change from the earlier mistake, but rather than give that 500 to Nguyen who had just caught the all-in bluff, it was ruled that Brewster would receive the 500 chip! To make it worse, it was Nguyen who would provide the refund after he had also won the earlier pot.

Chip and a chair!

angela_brewster_appt_auckland.jpg

Situs taruhan Online Aman dan Terpercaya | Tempat Taruhan Online Terlengkap | Situs Judi online terpercaya |

With a second chance at life, Brewster was all in for her single ante and somehow won the pot. Then she did it again. She was back to almost 10,000 in chips and had a pulse, but while she was able to rise from the dead, Brewster was unable to complete a fairytale comeback story for the ages. Moments later she was all in with her Q?9? failing to improve against Brotha D's A?T?.

The players have now headed off to a 30-minute dinner break. We're still three places off the money so we expect to see some more nervous moments when we return!
