A stone is most likely to blame for Hamilton's accident

A stone stuck between the wheel rim and the tyre is the most likely cause for Lewis Hamilton's accident on the penultimate lap of the Spanish Grand Prix.

The shattered remains of the front-left corner of Hamilton's car is being rushed back to Woking for analysis. Almost within sight of the chequered flag, his McLaren speared into the turn three barriers after a sudden tyre failure cost him second place both in the race and in the world championship standings. Team boss Martin Whitmarsh immediately speculated that "debris" probably caused the problem, while Bridgestone said its initial impression was that "this was not caused by a tyre issue".

"We are working closely with McLaren to understand what happened," said Bridgestone's Hirohide Hamashima.

After qualifying, Rubens Barrichello took photos with his mobile phone camera of his FW32 and his helmet, so amazed was he about the damage caused by flying stones. He told Germany's Auto Motor und Sport that he had to nurse his vibrating Williams to the chequered flag after feeling a "strong shock" on the left front.

"We had to slow him down to ensure we didn't have a problem with the tyres," confirmed technical director Sam Michael. "We'll be looking into that for the next race."

Barrichello suspects a stone got stuck in the wheel rim, and a similar cause was also not being ruled out to explain Sebastian Vettel's brake problem. After the Red Bull was inspected, Christian Horner revealed that the brake disc "was a bit damaged".

"We will only know for sure in the factory," he added.

Technical Update: Spanish GP

Mercedes introduced a new engine cover in Spain © GP Week

The return of F1 in Europe coincided with the Spanish Grand Prix and, as usual, this race brought a huge array of technical changes to the cars.

The first four flyways races prevented the teams from introducing significant changes on their cars, even if, as we saw, the development was still going on. The most heavily evolved car on the grid in Spain was the Mercedes W01. The car had a visually striking new air intake and engine cover and, a slightly less obvious but just as important, longer wheelbase - created by moving the front suspension forward by about 10cm. This was done to find a better weight distribution and improve, not just the overall performance of the car, but also the use of the tyres.

Among the other interesting evolutions, McLaren introduced a deeply revised front wing, and other ancillaries related to the car's floor. Red Bull also introduced a heavily revised version of its undertray, especially in the area in front of the rear wheels, sporting an horizontal slit to better feed the rear diffuser section of the car.

The Mercedes changes are visually striking due to the new engine air intake, pushed rearwards compared to the previous version, and lowered. The engine air intake is now made up of two separate sections, divided by the roll structure that is now in the shape of a vertical fin to divide the airflow and provide a better, cleaner airflow to the rear wing. This helps to provide a cleaner and more effective airflow to the sort of 'minimal' F-duct system placed within the rear wing's main profile. The F-duct now receives less turbulence and works better than it did with the more cumbersome engine cover used at the start of the season.

As mentioned before, the other change featured on the Mercedes cars was the increase of the wheelbase, achieved by pushing forward the front axle. This change is only slightly visible, thanks to the different angle of the steering link, visible from above. Previously it was inclined slightly rearwards but now it is perfectly perpendicular to the car's longitudinal centreline.

McLaren's new front wing © GP Week Meanwhile McLaren sported a deeply revised and interesting front wing. In particular the main change is related to the wing's endplates, which no longer features a flat upper edge. Instead it features a diagonal cut that helps channel the air around the front wheels, so as to reduce the vortices and turbulence generated in this area that affects the whole car. This of course is massively effective on tracks featuring very long straights, as is the case in Barcelona. The new front wing still produces a high level of downforce.

Red Bull, on the other hand, introduced changes that were not so easily seen. The horizontal section of the undertray in front of the rear wheels features a deeper and wider slit, which is designed to better feed the rear diffuser and maximise the downforce generated by the bottom of the car. In doing so, Red Bull can reduce the angle of its rear wing, cut drag and gain top speed on the straight. This is best seen as a sort of counter attack by Red Bull to the fashionable F-duct.

Ferrari fined for Alonso and Rosberg near miss

Ferrari has been fined ,000 © Getty Images

The stewards have fined Ferrari $20,000 after investigating the pitlane incident during qualifying involving Fernando Alonso and Nico Rosberg.

The pair almost collided in Q3 when Ferrari's Alonso exited the garage into the path of Mercedes' Rosberg, who had to take avoiding action and nearly struck the pitwall.

A stewards' statement confirmed that the Maranello team was guilty of an "unsafe release", and referred to the rule requiring "all pitlane and track and safety measures to apply to all practice sessions as for the race".

Alonso said it had been a complete accident.

"First of all I didn't see Nico unfortunately," he said. "The vision, the angle, is not the perfect one to see anyone coming from the pits. So you rely on your mechanic. If there is a penalty for this we need to reconsider some of the grands prix we have had so far in terms of penalties in the pit lane. If there is any, hopefully they consider there was no accident, no touch, no performance gain on the move."

Senna says his HRT is damaged

Bruno Senna believes his HRT chassis is carrying an inherent problem this weekend.

The Brazilian rookie was the slowest qualifier in Barcelona, some four tenths behind his teammate Karun Chandhok.

"There is something wrong at the back and we have still not found what it is," he is quoted by Brazil's Globo. "I only know that it has been eating up the tyres. Perhaps the floor is loose, we don't know, but whatever it is, it's serious. If we don't find what it is then it is possible I will have to make several pitstops, because the tyres are not going to last."

Senna will start from 21st on the grid after both Virgins and Chandhok were hit with grid penalties for gearbox infringements.

Schumacher satisfied with 'straightforward' day

www.inulpoker.com, Agen Poker Terpercaya, Poker dan Domino Online Indonesia Terpercaya, Poker dan Domino Terbaik,

Michael Schumacher said he extracted the most from his Mercedes © Sutton Images

Michael Schumacher confessed himself satisfied with his performance after outqualifying team-mate Nico Rosberg for the first time this season.

The seven-time world champion managed a time quick enough for sixth on the grid, two places higher than his fellow German.

"Today's qualifying was straightforward in my view," said Schumacher. "We had a good car yesterday meaning that conditions were quite ideal for us in terms of balance and so on.

"Today admittedly, the car was not as perfect. It is little things that can trigger that change one way or the other, and whatever happened today just triggered us to fall over the edge towards the downside a little.

Schumacher arrived at Spain with upgrades to his mercedes chassis, implemented to suit his driving style better than in previous races. And, as on Friday, he admitted to being far more at ease with the car.

"I feel a lot more comfortable driving the car that I have in my hands now. But there is a maximum that you can get out of it and that is what we have achieved today."

Driver-by-driver run down

Mark Webber led from the start of the race © Sutton Images

Mark Webber - 1st A faultless drive from lights to flag was rewarded with 25 points and Webber's first race victory of the season. He never looked under threat and at times appeared to be holding plenty in reserve, as he maintained a steady gap over Hamilton. He is now fourth in the championship, just seven points behind team-mate Vettel.

Fernando Alonso - 2nd About as good a result as he could have hoped for in front of his home fans, especially considering Ferrari's pace relative to the opposition. He started setting very quick laps towards the end of the race, which is proof that the F10 is easy on its tyres, but didn't have enough in reserve to tackle Hamilton while the McLaren was still on track.

Sebastian Vettel - 3rd He made the best of a bad situation, taking 15 points on a day when he could have faced a DNF. Still, the problem with his brakes in the closing stages underlined the fragility of the RB6 and prevented him completing a Red Bull one-two on a circuit where it was clearly dominant.

Michael Schumacher - 4th While the updates to the Mercedes haven't seen it make any in-roads into the top-three's dominance (Schumacher finished one minute off Webber), they have certainly helped Schumacher with the balance of the car. For the first time this year he outperformed his machinery and held off the quicker McLaren of Button and the Ferrari of Massa. His blocking into turn one also confirmed that he has lost none of his race-craft in his three years out of the sport.

Jenson Button - 5th A botched pit stop saw him get stuck behind Schumacher for the majority of the race and lose touch with the leaders. His attempts at passing the Mercedes lacked the necessary commitment up the inside, but with Schumacher in the opposing car it was understandable why. He is still at the top of the drivers' championship but will need to up his game again if he is going to stay there.

Felipe Massa - 6th It was a result that summed up his race weekend. He was never on the pace of the front runners and failed to attack Button when the opportunity arose behind Schumacher. With Alonso finishing forty seconds up the road, he will need to go back to the drawing board with race engineer Rob Smedley.

Adrian Sutil - 7th Best of the rest is about as good as Sutil could have hoped for this weekend. He made a good start and then had to maintain a solid pace to keep Kubica at bay in the second half of the race.

Michael Schumacher was holding off cars all day © Sutton Images Robert Kubica - 8th Solid if not spectacular for Kubica. A bad first lap dropped him down the order and he slowly made his way back through the field thanks to a well-timed pit stop and other driver's misfortunes. Damage to the car in the first lap held him back slightly but the pace of the car was still good.

Rubens Barrichello - 9th A fantastic start made up for a dreadful qualifying run on Saturday. After that, just staying out of trouble was enough to see him move up the field and take two valuable points.

Jaime Alguersuari - 10th A point was a good result but the young Spaniard won't be able to help but wonder what he could have achieved at his home race. A good start moved him up the field but a poor pit stop negated his good work. He then tangled with Chandhok while trying to lap the HRT, wiping off the nose of his opponent. Quite rightly he was hit with a drive-through penalty, but did well to fight back through the field to tenth. He also pulled the move of the day to pass Hulkenberg around the outside into turn one.

Vitaly Petrov - 11th After a cautious start he had a relatively quiet race. He'll be happy to notch up another finish but his car was better than the two that ended up directly in front of him. He had a good scrap with Kobayashi in the second half of the race and didn't make any silly mistakes.

Kamui Kobayashi - 12th Another question of what could have been, he was pushed wide by Kubica in turn three at the start of the race and never really recovered. The car was quick, which will be reassuring, and could have challenged for points.

Nico Rosberg - 13th It was a disastrous weekend for Rosberg in the new Mercedes. He was pushed wide at the start by Kubica and then fell right down the order in the first stops when his car had to be pushed back into its box after the front-right wheel nut failed to tighten. From then on the car appeared to get worse and worse and even a fresh set of soft tyres didn't remedy the problems.

The remains of Lewis Hamilton's car © Sutton Images Lewis Hamilton - 14th He came within two laps of taking a podium, only for the front-left tyre to let go at high speed. Although the reason for the failure has yet to be confirmed, Hamilton said he was aware of the problem in the closing stages and was trying to nurse the car home. Up until that point, he put in a brilliant performance and for most of the race had Vettel covered for pace.

Tonio Liuzzi - 15th It was a miserable weekend for the Italian after he lost a lot of set-up time on Friday with a throttle problem. That meant he started from 16th on the grid and never really recovered in the race. To top things off his car stopped on track with just two laps remaining.

Nico Hulkenberg - 16th He damaged the floor of the car early on and that meant he was off the pace for most of the race. He was constantly trying to defend position and will have to wait for Monaco for another opportunity to add to his single championship point.

Jarno Trulli - 17th The result was about as good as he could have hoped for. He finished ahead of Glock's Virgin and Lotus appeared to have the measure of its main rivals all weekend. He said there were still a number of problems to be ironed out ahead of the next race in Monaco.

Timo Glock - 18th The update to his car gave saw him finish strongly and trouble Trulli for a large part of the race. He didn't quite have the pace to attempt a pass but the result will be reassuring for his team after its early season dramas.

Lucas di Grassi - 19th A finish was a good result for him, but without the bigger fuel tank enjoyed by Glock, he was a lap down on the battle in front of him and 4 laps down on the race leaders.

Sebastien Buemi - DNF - Hydraulics He came together with de la Rosa at the start, then received a drive-through penalty for a pit-lane infringement (the exact reason is still a mystery), before finally retiring with a hydraulic problem. It will be desperately disappointing for him because the car was capable of more and his team-mate racked up another point.

Karun Chandhok - DNF - Suspension A finish would have been a good result for him but he was forced to retire after Alguersuari wiped his front wing off. The resulting damage to the suspension was too severe to risk carrying on and he was understandably annoyed with the Toro Rosso driver.

Pedro de la Rosa - DNF - Puncture and damage He got off to a good start but an accident with Sebastien Buemi saw him suffer a rear puncture. The flapping tyre carcass caused extensive damage to the floor of the car and forced him to retire.

Bruno Senna - DNF - Accident He was complaining about inherent damage to his chassis before the race, but that was nothing compared to how it ended up after just one lap. A good start saw him gain a few places, but then he was caught out by the ill-handling HRT and buried it in the barriers at turn 4.

Heikki Kovalainen - DNS - Gearbox A software issue with the gearbox meant his Lotus didn't even fire up on the grid. Given Trulli's solid performance, he will be disappointed that he wasn't able to show what he could do.

Webber takes commanding win in Spain

www.inulpoker.com, Agen Poker Terpercaya, Poker dan Domino Online Indonesia Terpercaya, Poker dan Domino Terbaik,

Mark Webber led from start to finish © Sutton Images

Mark Webber put in a dominant performance to win the Spanish Grand Prix from Fernando Alonso and team-mate Sebastian Vettel as Lewis Hamilton crashed out of second place on the penultimate lap.

Webber was faultless, leading the race from start to finish without ever really looking stretched. Hamilton looked set for a certain podium until a puncture denied him with two laps to go and he went straight on at the high-speed turn three. Alonso moved up to second place as a result, his reward for a calm and measured race in front of his home fans.

Vettel rounded out the podium, after a front-right wheel problem meant he had to pit for another set of tyres and eventually back off completely under braking in the closing laps. He had been keeping pace with Webber in the early stages, but dropped to third behind Hamilton at the first set of pit stops when his team struggled to replace a wheel. On rejoining the track the pair almost came together and Vettel had to take to the turn two run-off in avoidance. He then maintained a two-second gap to Hamilton until his problems struck and he dropped back.

Michael Schumacher scored his best result of the season in fourth, after a titanic battle with Jenson Button midway through the race. A slow pit stop saw Button lose position to Schumacher and a great battle between the two ensued. The McLaren was all over the Mercedes into turn one for several laps, but Schumacher showed his experience, blocking the inside line and shepherding Button wide on every attempt. Button's tyres started to fade, and with them, the likelihood of making a move stick.

While all the action took place in front, Felipe Massa closed on the pair but never looked like making a pass on Button. His car looked difficult to drive and at one point he slid into the rear of Karun Chandhok's HRT as he came up to lap it. Massa damaged his front wing but elected not to pit and in the end comfortably held onto position to finish sixth.

Adrian Sutil and Robert Kubica had relatively straight-forward races to finish seventh and eighth, while Rubens Barrichello took advantage of others misfortunes to recover to ninth from his disappointing qualifying performance. Jaime Alguersuari picked up the final point, driving a strong race at his home grand prix despite serving a drive-through penalty for tangling with Chandhok.

Outside the top ten, Nico Rosberg struggled all afternoon to end up finishing a lap down in 13th place. At the start he was pushed onto the grass by Kubica and then dropped back through the field, pitting twice in an attempt to find a better balance on new tyres. For a significant part of the race he was stuck behind Nico Hulkenberg, as damage to the Williams' floor saw Hulkenberg going backwards in the positions all afternoon. Jarno Trulli, Timo Glock and Lucas di Grassi were the only drivers to finish behind Hulkenberg and spent most of their races trying to stay out of the way of faster cars.

Lotus closing the gap

Lotus is closing the gap to the opposition © Sutton Images

Lotus drivers Jarno Trulli and heikki Kovalainen are aiming for further improvement on race day after qualifying 19th and 20th respectively for the Spanish Grand Prix.

Although the team remained in the bottom six with fellow newcomers Virgin Racing and HRT, both drivers were significantly quicker than their rivals in lap time with Trulli almost a second clear of Timo Glock.

"A pretty good qualifying session today," said Trulli. "The result itself hasn't changed, but we have significantly reduced the gap to the cars in front. Yesterday I had better pace, so I'm not that happy with my performance today, but we now have a good gap to our direct competitors, and can start thinking about taking on those in front, which is thanks to the guys in the team. We still have a lot of work to do, and I think there's even more to come from the car, so let's see what happens tomorrow."

Kovalainen, who finished just .074s behind Trulli, echoed his team-mate's sentiments about closing the gap to the cars in front of them.

"I think it was a good session today and I'm happy. We achieved all the targets we set ourselves and we can see the gaps growing in the right direction - nearer those in front, and further away from the other new teams.

"We won't have these kind of upgrades every weekend, but I think the car will get quicker and quicker and we'll keep improving all the time. For the race tomorrow I think we can do well and I'm looking forward to being out there and seeing what we're like on a long run."

Webber 'rapt' with special victory

www.inulpoker.com, Agen Poker Terpercaya, Poker dan Domino Online Indonesia Terpercaya, Poker dan Domino Terbaik,

Mark Webber said he was 'rapt' after winning the Spanish Grand Prix in dominant fashion on Sunday.

The Australian cruised to victory at the Circuit de Catalunya from Fernando Alonso and team-mate Sebastian vettel, who struggled with brake problems.

"It's special - I'm absolutely rapt, but it's still very early doors," said Webber afterwards. "We know there are some very competitive cars at the front, in particular Red Bull, Ferrari, McLaren, and with some pretty decent drivers as well."

Despite the dominant nature of his victory, Webber said that it would not be so easy in the races to come.

"There's a long, long way to go, so we're waiting to see how cars perform at different venues - cars are pretty sensitive at different tracks. There's a lot of things to see how it all shakes out over the next few months. You need to have a quick car and one that is always there for you."

Having started on pole, Webber withstood substantial pressure from Vettel at the start and admitted it was where the race was won.

"It was an important part of the race to get out of Turn 1 in the lead. It was quite tight into Turn 1, then I settled into a rhythm, looking after the tyres in the first stint.

"Then a clean pitstop, after which we had Lewis [Hamilton] behind, so we controlled the gap, needing to get the car home. When I saw that Lewis was in traffic I did some quick laps to open up the gap."

With victory, Webber moves to within seven points of Vettel in the drivers' championship but is still 17 points behind championship leader Jenson Button.

Hamilton remains positive

Lewis Hamilton retired on the penultimate lap with a puncture © Sutton Images

Lewis Hamilton remained positive after a puncture cost him second place in the Spanish Grand Prix on the penultimate lap.

"It was disappointing. It was quite a good race for me," said Hamilton. "I had really good fun out there. It was nice obviously to take a step forward and split the Red Bulls. The team did an incredible job."

Second place would have moved Hamilton into second in the standings behind team-mate Jenson Button but his retirement now means he drops him to sixth, 21 points behind.

"It was great to come here with such a good step forward for us and it would have been perfect for the team in terms of the Constructors' Championship and also for the drivers' but these things happen.

"I don't know what it was. I just felt it was kind of unfortunate to have another tyre blowout, but I guess we'll find out what it was. There's many more races to go."

Despite his obvious disappointment, Hamilton accepted that such incidents were part and parcel of the sport and he now has to look forward.

"I'm absolutely blown away that it was the last two laps of the race that something happened, but this is motor racing and you just keep your chin up and look forward."

Driver and team reaction

Felipe Massa had a tough race to sixth position © Sutton Images Fernando Alonso - 2nd "I am happy with getting this second place in front of my fans: I am happy for them, but especially for the team, who have worked so hard this weekend without making mistakes. It's true the result came in an unexpected way, but that's racing. We knew we could expect a difficult Grand Prix, because on tracks like this we still don't have enough aerodynamic downforce to fight for pole position and the win, even if the races are very long and that was confirmed yet again today. In circumstances like this we have to try and attack and exploit every opportunity. Our strong point seems to be tyre management as ours seemed to be in better condition than those of our rivals in the final stages of the race. We have to up our performance level, but we do have the potential to win the championship. The management system for the blown rear wing worked well but it is still at the experimental stage. Maybe in Turkey we will have an updated version. Now we go to Monaco, a special Grand Prix that everyone wants to win. Set-up and tyres will be different to what we had here and we will see where that puts us compared to the others. After a few difficult races, I got back on the podium and I am second, three points behind the leader of the classification: there is still a long way to go in the championship, but I repeat, this is a great result."

Felipe Massa - 6th "It was a difficult race. I got a good start but then I was always behind other cars and I never managed to run at a constant pace. Once again today, the main difficulty was a lack of grip, especially in the third sector: every time it looked as though I might close on Button, he managed to get away from me over some sections of the track. We must work to improve the car's performance and there is no doubt about it. Even though we brought home a good number of points, I can't be happy with the way things went this weekend. When I touched a backmarker, the left front wing end plate got broken, but the handling of the car was not affected much. If I'd returned to the pits to change the nose, I would have lost at least three places, so the decision to stay out on track was the right one. Now we immediately head for Monaco, my second home race, given that I live a few hundred metres from the track. We will have different tyres to here and I hope we go back to finding ourselves in a more favourable situation, at least from my point of view."

Stefano Domenicali "Our aim today was to make the most of the package we had and we can claim to have succeeded in that. Fernando drove an amazing race, managing the car and tyres in the best way possible and this second place is just reward for all the hard work he has done, along with the team. Felipe got a great start and was always in a battle with Button and Schumacher, in a race that was always difficult for him: we have to work out how to make his car work the tyres better. Overall, we can be pleased with this result, given the situation in terms of different performance levels when compared to some of our rivals. However, as we are well aware, the races are long and difficult and only end at the chequered flag. We must continue to work on our performance because we have a significant gap to make up. We must continue to work on performance, because some of our rivals have shown they have made a bigger step forward than us."

Adrian Sutil - 7th "A very good race for the team, with a good pace that showed again we are up there in the midfield really fighting for position and points. I had a great start, moving from 11th to 8th, and was not that far behind the Ferrari of Massa for most of the race. I had to push quite a lot throughout as for about 40 laps Robert [Kubica] was quite close behind and there was no time to relax. In the end seventh position is a great success for the team. It's more points and keeps that momentum going. I can't wait to get to Monaco now, one of my favourite tracks."

Tonio Liuzzi - 15th "It was a difficult race starting from so far behind. We had a decent start but we struggled with understeer and then snap oversteer on the first stint with the softer tyres. I lost a little time getting away from the pit stop but then the balance with the hard tyres was getting better. By that point though we had got caught in the traffic because of the faster cars coming by. Once they had all gone and we got some clean laps we could show a decent pace so we can be quite happy at this aspect. Ultimately the points were too far away as we had already lost so much time at the beginning, but that's racing and we have to sit and understand what happened to the whole weekend as it's been quite difficult all round. I'm now looking forward to Monaco in just a few days' time."

Dr Vijay Mallya, team principal "It's been a positive race for Force India as we've added to our total and made it points from four out of five races so far this year. This was one of our aims; to be consistent and score in as many races as possible. Adrian had a faultless race and kept calm under a lot of pressure from our closest rivals, Renault, and he thoroughly deserved those points. For Tonio the weekend has been difficult from the start, but he did as much as he could from his starting position. He'll move onto Monaco, where he has a great record, hungry to get back into the points. There's only a week to go now and everything to look forward to."

Bruno Senna - DNF - Accident "I made a great start and was able to pass a good number of drivers and make up a few places. I was in 17th it was a good opportunity to show what I am able to do in F1. At Turn 4 the car just caught me out and unfortunately my race ended there. I am very disappointed not to finish our home race and had to retire in front of our fans on a track that I like very much. Let's look at the Monaco Grand Prix where I feel at home."

Karun Chandhok - DNF - Suspension "I am very disappointed with the outcome of the race. It's a real shame what happened with Jaime. I stayed out of his way, kept the car completely straight and he just turned left into me. I was really pleased with my race until then. ?I had a good first lap and was trying to be sensible with the option tyre and get them to last. My pace relative to the other new cars was good and I was pulling away from Di Grassi quite comfortably. In the end, although we changed the front wing, the damage to the front right suspension was too much and I had to stop. It is a disappointing end to a good day for the team."

Colin Kolles, Team Principal "I am disappointed that we didn't finish our home race. It's a real pity because both drivers had good starts. Bruno Senna had to stop on the opening lap despite a very strong start which moved him up to 17th from 21st on the grid. Karun Chandhok was similarly strong and had a very good pace but retired mid-race after contact with Alguersuari. At least, the performance was much better than in Qualifying yesterday. Now, we look ahead to next weekend and are determined to have a good result in Monaco."

Jarno Trulli - 17th"I'm pleased we finished comfortably ahead of Virgin even though the car felt a bit difficult to drive today. I don't really know why but it didn't feel the same as it did on Friday - despite that we achieved what we set out to today, showed good race pace and finished well."

Heikki Kovalainen - DNS - Gearbox "We had a gearbox problem while we were firing up on the grid. The gearbox selected two gears at once - there was some sort of software issue which caused it to fail. It's unfortunate, because we have had such a good weekend, but these things happen. Next up it's Monaco, and I know we'll be stronger again there, so we can focus on the next race and hope the luck returns."

Mike Gascoyne, Chief Technical Officer "It was a bit of a disappointing afternoon because we had a difficult race where we weren't really able to show our true pace. We had a gearbox problem on the grid with Heikki, which was caused by a procedural issue, not a reliability problem. That's frustrating as I think he would have had a strong race. Jarno made a great start, he had some contact going down into the first corner and throughout the race was struggling with the rear of the car. It was difficult for him in traffic, but he did a good job to bring the car home and get his first real race finish. Now we'll just have to go to Monaco next week and show what we know we can do."

Lewis Hamilton - DNF - Puncture "Today, I was looking good to split the Red Bulls, and it would have been perfect for us in both world championships if I could have finished second this afternoon. I was just nursing the car to the finish line, then I suddenly felt the steering go, and then there was immediately a failure on the left-front corner. I didn't sense anything odd before the accident - the car was feeling great - so that's why it was such a surprise. We don't know what went wrong, but we'll take everything back to the McLaren Technology Centre [Woking, Surrey, UK] and work to find out.

"I think I drove a good race. I couldn't keep up with Mark [Webber] on my second set of tyres, but I was able to get past Sebastian [Vettel] as I came out of the pits. I have to say, there were problems with some of the backmarkers today - it felt like we were lapping some of them four or five times - and some of them were very bad at getting out of the way. I appreciate that it's not always easy for the backmarkers, and I know from the first half of last year what it's like to be lapped, but some of them were slowing on the racing line, and in fact I nearly collided with a couple of them when they did that. It was quite difficult at times, because there was such a big speed difference. I guess it may be more difficult still at Monaco.

"But, going back to today, I'm absolutely gutted that my accident happened so close to the finish of the race - but that's motor racing. The guys did an incredible job all weekend, though. There are many more races to go this season, and I'll keep my chin up. I know we can still fight for this championship."

Jenson Button - 5th "During the opening laps, my dashboard readout stopped working. The team was telling me over the radio to do things on the steering wheel but I couldn't see if I was doing the right things. And I couldn't see the rev lights either: most of the time I was pretty close with my gear-changes, but I was hitting the limiter quite a lot, which happens when you're getting a tow and you're shifting at different places. Then I was delayed at the first pitstop: there was a problem with the clutch dragging, so the guys couldn't get the wheel on, and then I had wheelspin. When I rejoined the track, I didn't know where Michael [Schumacher] was. Into Turn One, he turned in - and if I hadn't backed out of it, we would probably have crashed.

"As everyone knows, it's almost impossible to overtake around here, and Michael was moving about a bit to make sure I couldn't get past. That was frustrating because the pace of my car was really good this afternoon, but that doesn't make any difference if you can't overtake. I was trying so hard to get past that I damaged my tyres quite a bit; I flat-spotted a front and hurt the rears under traction. Fifth wasn't the result we'd wanted, and it wasn't the result we really deserved either because we were pretty quick. I guess you could say that was both a positive and a negative, because I couldn't get to use that pace fully today."

Martin Whitmarsh "For Lewis, it was just one of those days. He drove brilliantly - an impressively disciplined yet excitingly combative performance - and posted the fastest lap of the race, nearly half a second quicker than the next-best lap, on his way to what would have been a richly deserved second place had he not been forced to retire within spitting distance of the chequered flag. We'll now gather up the parts, take them back to the McLaren Technology Centre, and then analyse them meticulously - so, until we've done that, we won't really be able to make any definitive statements about what we think it was that caused the problem at the left-front corner of his car.

"Jenson drove a very good race too, but was hampered early on by a dash display failure that prevented him from being able to follow our normal launch procedure during his pitstop. As a result he was slowed by wheelspin which allowed Michael to slip ahead of him. Thereafter he wasn't quite able to overtake, despite clearly having the potential to lap faster than Michael had he had a clear track in front of him.

"Naturally enough, all of us at Vodafone McLaren Mercedes feel a little disappointed to have lost 18 world championship points at the 11th hour today, but there are nonetheless a lot of positives we can take from the weekend. We showed strong race pace today, we're still leading both the drivers' world championship and the constructors' world championship, and the next grand prix is at Monaco, which McLaren has won no fewer than 15 times - significantly more than any other team in Formula 1 history. We'll be racing on the famous streets of the Principality in just a few days' time, and you can be well sure that we'll be doing everything in our power to add to our win tally there."

Nico Rosberg never got to grips with his Mercedes © Sutton Images Michael Schumacher - 4th "It was quite an entertaining race right from the start even if we knew from the beginning that there would not be a chance for us to compete for a podium place if everything goes as normal. Still it was exciting for me to manage to keep the position that I gained but then, I am obviously not too happy as today we could only defend. All we could do was to hope for reliability problems of others in order to make up positions and that's not really what you want to do. It was an interesting fight with Jenson but all I could do is try to not give him a possibility to overtake. In the end the gap to the front is just too big to be really happy after this race. For Monaco, we hope that the characteristics of the track will suit our car better."

Nico Rosberg - 13th "The race didn't go my way today and, of course, it is frustrating to have finished outside of the points for the first time this season. We have a good upgrade on the car here which should be improving our performance but it just hasn't worked out for me here. In qualifying, I did the best that I could but starting from eighth position isn't where we wanted to be this weekend. In the race, I had the situation with Robert at the start when I tried for the gap but he didn't see me so I was pushed wide and then we had a problem at my first stop which dropped me back again. So it's been a disappointing weekend and we need to look into the reason why we have been off our usual pace."

Ross Brawn "Well done to Michael and the team for their hard work today. Michael has driven extremely well all weekend to continue the progress that he made over the first three races of the season and achieve his best finish with our team. Nico has had a more difficult time and we will look closely into the reasons why he has struggled this weekend. Although we have made a step forward with the performance of our car, the evidence shows that our competitors have also improved and our step is not enough to enable us to compete where we would like to be. We have a lot of hard work ahead of us and I remain confident that we have the ability and resources to close the gap, but it will be a tough fight."

Sebastian Vettel - 3rd "A lot of things didn't go my way today. The start was okay; there was no chance to get past Mark, but also it wasn't worth taking the risk. It was quite slippery, so I didn't want to take a run down the outside. I was not quick enough today. I struggled a lot with the balance of the car. The car's fast - Mark was in his own league today, but for some reason I found it difficult. There were a few problems. I was unlucky as I had a slow stop and had to wait in the pit box for the Ferrari to drive past and then Jenson was coming in, so it felt very long! We lost ground and the position. It was close when Lewis came out, but then he was impossible to pass. I felt the car was getting better, but as soon as you got close there was no chance to pass. Fifteen laps to the end, I lost the front left brakes and had to back off. I was lucky as there was a gap to Michael (Schumacher) behind me. I don't know how to feel as third is not a bad position, but I think we had a difficult race today with some things happening that we didn't want. It's good to take some points, the car is fast, but it was difficult."

Mark Webber - 1st "Today was a special day, no doubt about it and I'm very happy to capitalise on the pole position. It's an aggressive run in to turn one with the slip stream and the big head wind and I knew the guys would be arriving in the braking zone, so I needed to be very precise with everything into there. I had that covered and then settled into the race. I was very happy with how the first stint went and I had a nice clean pit stop. Everything went my way today, it was very good. It felt like the longest Grand Prix I've ever done though! With the other victories there has been a bit more going on as I wasn't always in the lead, but today was all about watching the lap board go down and my god, it just takes forever! It was so good to get the victory, I'm just stoked, absolutely over the moon. We had a good set up and the car felt good. It's a credit to all the guys, they worked like hell both in the garage and in the factory, they buried themselves in the last two weeks. This is what you have to do to be successful and take on the likes of Ferrari and McLaren. It's not a tea party, we need to work hard and today's result is a credit to Red Bull Racing and to Renault."

Christian Horner "It was a fantastic race from Mark and a very commanding performance from him today. He has been sensationally quick all weekend and this was a fitting result. Sebastian had a much more eventful race. We had a right front wheel issue at the first stop that cost him a bit of time and unfortunately allowed Lewis to sneak past. Thereafter he was comfortable, but stuck in dirty air until a brake issue appeared with about fifteen laps to go. We made a pit stop for a precautionary look at the brake disc - we could see it was still there, but it was a bit damaged and then it was a question of managing the pace of the car until the end of the race. Sebastian did a good job of building in a big enough safety margin in the braking areas for it not to be an issue. Ultimately first and third is a great team result - one place off a maximum score. We've enjoyed a good step forward in our performance this weekend, which is credit to the effort put in by the whole team."

Robert Kubica - 8th "I didn't have a good first lap and that compromised the rest of my race. I actually made a good start and was fighting with Massa through turn one but unfortunately the car snapped sideways when I got on the power. Then, in turn three, I touched Kobayashi which damaged the front wing and cost me some places. I was struggling with quite a lot of understeer because of the damage, but the field was so tight that we didn't have time to change the wing during the pit stop without losing a position. After that, I was able to attack Sutil and the car felt quite competitive in spite of the damage. But everybody knows how difficult it is to overtake here so there was no chance to pass him. Even so, the pace has been good this weekend and that's been a nice surprise. Now we need to look forward to Monaco."

Vitaly Petrov - 11th "I'm pleased to finish a race in dry conditions, although it was a shame to miss out on points. At the start of the race I decided it was better to be cautious because the first corner was very busy with a lot of cars all around me. I didn't gain any places but I knew I needed to stay out of trouble and avoid damaging the car. The rest of the race was quite straightforward: the team did a good job today, the balance was consistent and I had a nice battle with Kobayashi. Monaco's next and I'm really looking forward to driving an F1 car there for the first time. But, more than ever, it will be important to have a weekend without mistakes if we want to score points."

Eric Boullier, Team Principal "It was a tough afternoon for us and today's race shows us once again that the key this year is to qualify well and have a good start: if you don't, it's very difficult to score points. Robert delivered another strong performance, although he was unlucky to touch Kobayashi on the opening lap. Without that, we think he could have gained a couple of positions compared to qualifying. As for Vitaly, I'm pleased that he has finished his first race in the dry and he now has some more valuable experience. He showed good pace which is encouraging for the future. He finished the day as the strongest rookie, but he's aiming much higher than that. We know that if he can qualify strongly, he will do a very good job."

Kamui Kobayashi fights back through the field © Sutton Images Pedro de la Rosa - DNF - Puncture and damage "I can't explain how disappointed I am. I had a good start but I got hit by a Toro Rosso which caused a rear tyre puncture. I pitted for a tyre change but meanwhile the damage to the car, caused by the exploded tyre, was quite extensive. We tried to continue but the car was undriveable. It just made no sense and we had to give up."

Kamui Kobayashi - 12th "I had a good start but in turn three I was hit by Robert (Kubica). I think I left him enough room but he said he had understeer. However, this was where I lost ground. I came back from the gravel in 15th. I'm convinced, given the progress we made with the car, without this incident I would have been able to score points today. Later I got stuck behind Vitaly (Petrov) in the other Renault. It is really not easy to overtake on the Circuit de Catalunya. I tried hard but it didn't work out. At least I finished my first Grand Prix this year."

Peter Sauber "Looking back to the race weekend, it was positive we improved the performance of the car which enabled Kamui to make it to the top ten in qualifying. And finally he was able to finish his first race this season. Unfortunately it was compromised on lap one when he was hit from behind. The same applies to Pedro, who was touched also from behind by another competitor, destroying not only the tyre but, as a result, also the floor of the car and this forced him to retire."

Sebastien Buemi - DNF - Hydraulics "When the lights went out, initially I got off the line well and had a good start. A bit later, I was trying to pass De La Rosa going down the left side and he suddenly moved over towards me. We were very close and the impact broke my front wing, so I had to come in and change the nose. After that, my pace was not too bad, but then I got a drive-through for a pit lane infringement, but I'm not really sure why and finally I had to retire in the garage with a hydraulic problem. At least there are just a few days to Monaco when I can try again to get my first worthwhile result of the season."

Jaime Alguersuari - 10th "I've got to be happy with scoring a point, even if my race was a bit of a mess, with the problem at the pit stop with the front left wheel nut and then the penalty after my collision with Chandok, but mistakes are part of racing. I was pleased that I got a very good start as it was important to get past other cars immediately, if I was going to have a good race. The backmarkers were very tough to overtake as they don't move out of the way that much and they are really slow. I am pleased with tenth place, even if I am upset a bit, because it could have been so much better, especially as our race pace was very strong. Now we go to Monaco where I know there is more potential to come from me, as I am still learning a lot and there is more to come from the team and the car. It will be another new track for me, which I will need to learn well if I want to score points again. I feel very motivated about the next race."

Franz Tost "I am glad that, on their F1 debut with our team, we were able to give our new sponsor, Money Service Group their first point in the sport, although clearly, in the early stages we looked like bringing home more than that. Once again, Jaime did a fantastic job, moving up to ninth after the start. Unfortunately, there was an error at his pit stop when the front left wheel nut got stuck. This meant he dropped a couple of places. Then he was given a drive-through penalty after he collided with Chandok as he was lapping the Hispania car. He put in some really good lap times and was one of the fastest in the closing stages and it was good to get another point. As for Sebastien, once again he was involved in a collision, this time with De La Rosa. He had to come in for a nose change and later, he too got a drive-through penalty for dangerous driving out of the pit and finally he had to retire with a hydraulic problem, which we must now investigate. However, I am convinced he will get a good race result soon."

Timo Glock - 18th "In general the race wasn't too bad for us and obviously we have made a good step in getting both cars to the finish, so it was a good team result today. The car was difficult to drive in the last part of the first stint. I had a good race-long battle with Jarno but the amount of traffic we experienced made it very difficult. Out of 66 laps, only 15 of them were in free air and the rest were full of blue flags. We are making progress and today was an important step, but it was a small step and we have to keep up the momentum now to bring some bigger steps as the season progresses. Congratulations to the team because they have worked incredibly hard over the past few weeks and this weekend in particular."

Lucas di Grassi - 19th "It was a good race for the team today - the first race where we were able to bring both cars to the finish and a good reward for the team after all the hard work. Reliability has been a weak point for the last races but I'm very happy to see we have taken a step forward. My race was very tough - we opted to start on the prime tyres and it was impossible to drive the car. When we switched back to options the car was okay again and I was able to do some good laps. With a lot of blue flags it was very difficult to have a consistent pace."

Nick Wirth, Technical Director
"To finally achieve our first two-car finish is a great reward for everyone involved with Virgin Racing. Firstly I would like to thank the race team for their incredible work this weekend. I must also recognise the considerable efforts of everyone back at Wirth Research and our suppliers, who have been working relentlessly since Shanghai to fix our transmission and hydraulic problems. It was a very encouraging debut for our new VR-01 and we are all looking forward to bringing more performance to the car in the forthcoming races. I should also pay due credit to our drivers Timo and Lucas, not only for solid determined drives in today's race, but for their patience and crucial contribution over the past few weeks in particular."

Rubens Barrichello - 9th "After Saturday's disappointment this is a good result. We had a great start today, which allowed me to overtake five cars, and our pace was strong enough to stay with the Renaults and the Force Indias. We need to analyse it, but I think we were on the verge of a tyre issue in the last five laps. If it weren't for that, we would have finished closer to the guys just ahead of me. I am really happy considering where we were yesterday."

Nico Hulkenberg - 16th "I had quite a good start. I don't understand why yet, but I always felt like I was in the wrong place at the wrong time going into the corners in the first lap. After the first stop, I went offline and damaged the car which resulted in a lot less downforce. From there, it became a very difficult race for me."

Sam Michael, Technical Director "That was a good recovery after yesterday's qualifying. Both cars had great starts and Rubens put in an awesome first lap to make up more places. Rubens' race pace was strong up until the final few laps for which we had to slow him down to ensure we didn't have a problem with the tyres. We'll be looking into that for the next race. Nico drove a good first stint, but unfortunately damaged the car after his pitstop which caused a loss of downforce. Our focus now moves on to Monaco."

Ferrari will tweak its F-duct system so that it is more "comfortable" for the drivers, Fernando Alonso has revealed.

On Saturday he played down suggestions the Italian team's blown rear wing solution is dangerous because it is activated by the drivers' left hand.

"I always have my hands on the steering wheel. There is no problem," he told Germany's Motorsport-Magazin.com after qualifying.

Indeed, onboard video shows that the Spaniard has a black pad sewn onto the knuckles of his left glove that allows Alonso to block the airflow while keeping his thumb in place on the steering wheel.

But he told France's Auto Hebdo: "In the simulator we practiced with this method so that now it is automatic. But in the future we will find a more comfortable solution for the drivers."

Webber was 'in a league of his own' - Vettel

Sebastian Vettel was full of praise for Mark Webber © Sutton Images

Sebastian Vettel has admitted that his race-winning team-mate Mark Webber was "in a league of his own" at the Spanish Grand Prix.

Red Bull started from first and second on the grid but a poor pit stop and a problem with his right front wheel saw Vettel drop back to fourth position, well off the pace of Webber. After Lewis Hamilton crashed out from second Vettel moved up to third but conceded Webber's drive had been more impressive.

"A lot of things went wrong today," said Vettel. "The start was okay, there was no chance to get past Mark and not worth taking the risk. It was quite slippery where he was so I didn't want to go around the outside. I was not quick enough, I struggled with the balance. Mark was in a league of his own today."

Vettel said he had mixed feelings about salvaging 15 points from what was a very difficult afternoon.

"I don't know how to feel, third is not a bad position but I think we had a quite bad race today with quite a lot of things happening," he said. "It's good to take some points. We need to work and keep pushing. The car is fast, but you need to be able to use it every single time. It is a 50% chance of getting through: Mark had a race without any problems so for me it was the other way around."

Fernando Alonso celebrates finishing second © Sutton Images

Fernando Alonso said he was extremely happy with finishing second behind Mark Webber in front of his home fans at the Spanish Grand Prix.

Having qualified fourth, Alonso looked set to finish where he started but gained two positions after Lewis Hamilton crashed out on the penultimate lap and Sebastian Vettel dropped back with brake problems.

"Now I feel extremely happy after the result today and when you gain two positions in last part of race, unexpected positions, it feels great, and you have a fantastic feeling right now," said Alonso. "Overall the weekend has been so-so for us, but in terms of result fantastic weekend for us. Fourth in qualifying, second in the race is fantastic for the team."

Although the result moved Alonso into second place in the drivers' standings, only three points behind leader Jenson Button, he admitted that there is much work to be done if Ferrari is to catch Red Bull.

"We need to improve, we know that. We saw this weekend, we saw we need to improve in some areas in the car, especially for qualifying.

"We learned some things this weekend. We worked again to maximise our potential. We know sometimes we will be third, sometimes fifth, sometimes first hopefully. As long as we do our best we can be satisfied."

Michael Schumacher defends his position © Sutton Images

Michael Schumacher confessed himself satisfied with his best result of the season after finishing fourth in the Spanish Grand Prix.

The seven-time world champion spent the latter stages of the race doggedly defending his position from Jenson Button's McLaren before finishing over a minute behind race winner Mark Webber.

"It was quite an entertaining race right from the start even if we knew from the beginning that there would not be a chance for us to compete for a podium place if everything goes as normal," said Schumacher. "Still it was exciting for me to manage to keep the position that I gained but then, I am obviously not too happy as today we could only defend."

Despite finishing fourth, Schumacher acknowledged that the result was somewhat flattering.

"All we could do was to hope for reliability problems of others in order to make up positions and that's not really what you want to do. It was an interesting fight with Jenson but all I could do is try to not give him a possibility to overtake. In the end the gap to the front is just too big to be really happy after this race. For Monaco, we hope that the characteristics of the track will suit our car better."

Massa bemoans difficult race

Felipe Massa suffered from a lack of grip © Sutton Images

Felipe Massa complained about a lack of grip from his Ferrari after finishing a disappointing sixth in the Spanish Grand Prix.

The Brazilian qualified a lowly ninth and, despite making up a further three places on race day, he confessed himself unhappy after a difficult race.

"It was a difficult race," said Massa. "I got a good start but then I was always behind other cars and I never managed to run at a constant pace. Once again today, the main difficulty was a lack of grip, especially in the third sector: every time it looked as though I might close on Button, he managed to get away from me over some sections of the track. We must work to improve the car's performance and there is no doubt about it."

Although team-mate Fernando Alonso finished a welcome second, Massa said that the team must make the right choice on tyres if it is to make a step forward in Monaco.

"Even though we brought home a good number of points, I can't be happy with the way things went this weekend. Now we immediately head for Monaco, my second home race, given that I live a few hundred metres from the track. We will have different tyres to here and I hope we go back to finding ourselves in a more favourable situation, at least from my point of view."

Button laments qualifying mistake

Jenson Button ran wide in turn 8 on his final Q3 lap © Sutton Images

Jenson Button has admitted a mistake in qualifying was to blame for him ending up fifth on the grid at the Spanish Grand Prix.

Button had looked capable of challenging his team-mate Lewis Hamilton for third place in Q1 and Q2 but a mistake in turn eight, where the drivers cut the corner to get the fastest line, put him out of contention in Q3.

On my final lap in Q3, I ran over one of the green sections of Astroturf; there wasn't much grip there, so I got wheelspin and hit the rev limiter, which lost me a bit of time," he said. "We struggled a bit this morning, and yesterday we didn't think we'd be where we are right now, so, all in all, this afternoon wasn't too bad. Okay, I'd rather be a bit further up, and I think I probably could have been, but it's not a bad place to start. I still think the Red Bulls are going to be pretty tough to beat tomorrow, though."

Red Bull locked out the front row of the grid, 0.7 seconds faster than Hamilton's best time. Button said he had not expected his rivals to be quite that fast.

"We came here hoping to close the gap, but instead it's gone slightly in the other direction, which is surprising," he added. "So we've still got a lot of work to do, but I know that everyone in the team will be digging as deep as they possibly can to make that extra effort, and that we'll get there.

"For tomorrow, if we're good off the line, we might be able to pass some cars into turn one. It's a bit more difficult for me, but there's definitely a possibility for Lewis. And our race pace is usually better than our qualifying speed, so I'm still extremely hopeful for another good showing tomorrow. If all goes well, I hope to be able to maintain my position at the head of the drivers' world championship points standings - and hopefully Lewis and I will score heavily enough to keep Vodafone McLaren Mercedes at the top of the constructors' world championship table, too."

Rubens Barrichello confessed himself happy with his Spanish Grand Prix after the Williams driver netted two points from a gritty ninth place finish.

Having started 18th on the grid, Barrichello made a fantastic start to pass five cars and he gained a further four places by the end of the race.

"After Saturday's disappointment this is a good result," said Barrichello. "We had a great start today, which allowed me to overtake five cars, and our pace was strong enough to stay with the Renaults and the Force Indias.

"We need to analyse it, but I think we were on the verge of a tyre issue in the last five laps. If it weren't for that, we would have finished closer to the guys just ahead of me. I am really happy considering where we were yesterday."

Sebastian Vettel was told to return to the pits by his team © Sutton Images

Sebastian Vettel has revealed he was asked to retire from the Spanish Grand Prix by his team but stayed out on track to finish third.

The Red Bull driver suffered braking difficulties with 15 laps of the Barcelona race still to run, and made a pit stop so the problem could be investigated. Mechanics and engineers noticed damage to a brake disc before sending him back onto the circuit.

"When I got back out the team told me that I should quit the race," Vettel said in an interview with Germany's Auto Motor und Sport. "They said the risk because of the broken brake was too great. I asked them if that [retiring] was really necessary or whether I could just drive slowly and pick up some points. I got no answer. So I drove. In the middle of the last corner I then got the message 'keep going, but be careful', but it was too late anyway. I was already past the pit entry."

Vettel said he managed to finish the race by shifting the brake bias all the way to the rear. Team boss Christian Horner defended the car's reliability record and said that the podium result was proof of how well the situation was managed.

"I think when you are pushing the boundaries, things can happen," said Horner. "But we have to understand what the issue was here - as McLaren has to do with their failure with Lewis [Hamilton]. Ultimately we have got two cars on the podium and were just three points off a maximum score. So I think the team managed the issue with the brakes very well."

Jenson Button was not happy with Michael Schumacher's driving © Sutton Images

Jenson Button criticised seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher for his move around the outside of him as he rejoined the circuit after his pitstop in the Spanish Grand Prix.

Button said Schumacher's move was not one of an experienced driver and that he had to back off to avoid a collision as Schumacher swept around the outside at turn one.

"I didn't really know where Michael was on the outside of me," said Button. "He turned in and if I didn't back out of it we would have crashed. So he didn't really give me a lot of room there. There you go, you'd think with his experience he would know. It wasn't really the right move."

After passing Button, Schumacher doggedly defended his position for the remainder of the race despite the McLaren driver's best efforts.

"It's tough to overtake here, and Michael's not silly," said Button. "He knows where to put his car, so on a track like this you're not going to overtake him. He was putting it on the inside, and I couldn't pass on the outside because he just pushed me wide every time. He didn't make a mistake, so it was very frustrating.

"Fifth place is okay, but it's frustrating because the car was quick here. That's a positive and a negative, because I didn't get to use the speed."
