Winger Gregg Wylde and defender Ellis Plummer have both been missing with groin problems and the latter has the greater chance of being involved this weekend.

Saints, who sit bottom of the table after the 4-1 defeat at Celtic last Sunday, have yet to win at home this season but Teale is hoping a positive crowd reaction can lift his players.

Teale said: "We want them to go and try to use some imagination, especially in the final third, but also to have that doggedness that we don't concede at the back, so it's about getting the balance right. I want them to be positive.

"Hopefully we get a good crowd on Saturday. When they do get behind us it's a massive help to us."

New Motherwell boss Ian Baraclough knows his starting line-up for his first game in charge.

He was keeping his cards close to his chest publicly but indicated some younger players will be drafted into the squad for the trip to Paisley.

The game comes too soon for Steven Hammell and Craig Moore, while Simon Ramsden is still suspended, but Baraclough has suggested one or two previous injury doubts are in the frame.
