I really hope Lorde doesn't come back for the last one. It's like their trying too hard to make the soundtrack sound like the top 40 chart instead of reflecting the story (like the other two soundtracks did). I guarantee that the ratings for this soundtrack won't even come close to the ones for the first two. And what is up with Lorde being all over the freakin album? We get it, you're curating. It's not a big deal (especially since you did such a poor job). The album isn't yours, it belongs to this franchise and the fans. Hopefully James Newton Howard compensates for this with the score. Here's hoping that the next soundtrack will be better.
by Akmill6 I feel this has to be the worst album of the three movies so far. In my opinion it does not capture the essence of the book at all. Maybe it might be redeemed once the rest of the songs come out, but I somehow doubt it. The songs are a bit too poppy for how serious and reflective the first half of the book is supposed to be. Katniss' is telling readers how her world is turned upside down. Now I'm not saying every song has to be reflective or sad but so far songs like "This is not a game" or "Dead air", just isn't doing the character reflection justice in terms of tone, and allowing the reader/listener to connect to the emotionality of the book/movie .
