Q With the damp weather, my coloured hair - which is a bit dry - tends to get frizzy. Is there anything that will help/prevent this?
A This is such a common problem but we have discovered some helpful products.
Jo Hansford, known as the Queen of Colour, has launched an Anti-Frizz Shampoo and Conditioner as part of her sulphate-free Expert Colour Care range. One of the key factors in keeping hair frizz-free is to keep it well conditioned.
The Anti-Frizz Shampoo contains natural ingredients that surround the hair follicle and work synergistically to infuse the hair with moisture, while also protecting it from humidity and reducing the electro-static charge.
In the Styling Products category of our latest book, The Ultimate Natural Beauty Bible, Aveda Smooth Infusion Glossing Straightener, £20/125ml, scored well for frizz-smoothing. One tester commented: ‘very easy to use: just run through wet hair, which seemed to then take less time to dry. Great at defrizzing and I didn't have to use straighteners.’ The Smooth Infusion range includes shampoo and conditioner.
Finally, may we suggest you wear a hat in damp weather? It really helps. Sarah is very keen on her new black felt fedora from Brora, £69, at brora.co.uk, not to mention the compliments it elicits.
Beauty Bible loves ? 001 London EyeCicles
£150 for two EyeCicles (in gift box)
We’ve had the most fantastic results with the EyeCicle: a pair of cooling glass ‘orbs’ which you chill in the fridge (not freezer, NB) to smooth away fluid and puffiness from the under-eye zone via a specific massage technique.
The EyeCicle is designed to be used with the 001 Triple-Peptides Commander Eye Concentrate, and the results are pretty phenomenal: as the area’s cooled and stimulated at the same time, blood vessels expand and contract, oxygen flows to the cells (waking up the eye area), and flushing away built-up fluid. Eyes look brighter, smoother – and (we think) sparklier, with under-eye baggage all but banished. A wow.
